Abstract

The objectives of this research are to study a marketing, problems and threats related to a productivity of Pesticide-safe vegetables in order to compare a cost and return, to estimate a production function and to study an efficiency of factors of Pesticide-safe vegetables production. The data analysis is conducted by interviewing 30 samples that grow these following vegetables; Spring Onion, Lettuce, Hot basil, Thai coriander and Chili peppers in 2009-2010.The finding reveals that a majority of agriculturists are female between 41-50 years old with primary school education. Thai coriander has minimum break event point products which are 187.68 kilogram. The using of Cobb-Douglas’s production function reveals that variable factors that significantly affected to Pesticide-Safe Vegetables are Quantity of Labor and Organic fertilizer, an analysis of technical efficiency. A productivity of Hot basil, Lettuce and Spring Onion are increased but a return regarding to their scale decrease. On the other hands, a return of Thai coriander and Chili increase. In the economic efficiency aspect all typed vegetables productivity use factors of production below the level it should be. The problems and threats are agricultural price is diminished and bargaining power, no product quality certification, pest problems and a lack of working capital during a diminishing agricultural price. Keywords: Cost and Return, Efficiency of Production, Pesticide-Safe Vegetable
