Haslam, Sara (2000). A question of knowledge: James, Ford, "The Beast in the Jungle" and A Call. The Henry James Review, 21(1) pp. 72–82.

Abstract

This article is a comparison of one of Ford Madox Ford's most Jamesian fictions, his Edwardian novel A Call, and Henry James' well-known short story, 'The Beast in the Jungle'. Both writers have been described as in pursuit of the 'world's epistemological problems' and in this article I compare some of the results.
