Developing Effective Mechanisms for Implementing Labor Rights in the Global Economy

Abstract

The paper explains that workers in different countries are not adversaries and no actual conflict of interest exists between them. It contends that a raise in global wages will benefit workers worldwide. However, this growth in the global economy will not happen if workers in the U.S. and Europe, whose high wages fuel global demand for consumer goods, are losing their jobs to workers who earn subsistence wages.ILRF_DevelopingMechanisms_2000.pdf: 888 downloads, before Oct. 1, 2020
