Abstract
In need for iron P. aeruginosa (Pa) produces its siderophore pyoverdine (PYOV). PYOV-chelated iron is not available to A. fumigatus (Af), resulting in iron deficiency and damage to the fungus. Anti-fungal activity in part is counter-balanced by SidA-dependent A. fumigatus hydroxamate siderophores, providing iron to the fungus, further denying iron from P. aeruginosa.</p- Image
