La comunicación educativa en la Extensión universitaria: propuesta de plan de acciones para su desarrollo/Educational communication for University Extension: action plan proposal for its development

Abstract

Introduction: The University Extension has an important role in the University-Society interaction; however, the idea of ​​seeing it more as a function than as a process in itself persists. There are difficulties from the communicative point of view to articulate it with the other substantive processes, called Research and Training. Educational communication actions can strengthen extension management. Objective: to propose actions to manage the university extension process from educational communication. Methods: Theoretical and empirical methods were used, which allowed the collection and processing of information in a selected sample of students and professors of the Social Communication major of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez (Uniss), as well as authorities, workers and students from other educational institutions. Results: Actions that facilitate the management of university extension as a process were provided. Conclusion: The proposal constitutes a methodology focused on achieving the articulation of various elements that make up the extension process.Introducción: La Extensión universitaria tiene un importante papel en la interacción universidad-sociedad; sin embargo, persiste la idea de verla más como función que como proceso en sí mismo. Existen dificultades desde el punto de vista comunicativo para articularlo con los demás procesos sustantivos, denominados Investigación y Formación. Las acciones de comunicación educativa pueden fortalecer la gestión extensionista. Objetivo: proponer acciones para gestionar el proceso de Extensión universitaria desde la comunicación educativa. Métodos: se utilizaron métodos teóricos y empíricos, los que permitieron la recogida y el procesamiento de la información en una muestra seleccionada de estudiantes y profesores de la carrera de Comunicación Social de la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus “José Martí Pérez” (Uniss) y directivos, trabajadores y estudiantes de otras instituciones educativas. Resultados: se aportaron acciones que facilitan la gestión de la Extensión universitaria como proceso. Conclusiones: la propuesta constituye una metodología enfocada en alcanzar la articulación de varios elementos que componen el proceso extensionista.
