QUE BOI-BUMBÁ É ESSE? QUE CARNAVAL É ESSE? REFLEXÕES TRANSCULTURAIS SOBRE FESTAS ALEGORICAMENTE ENTRECRUZADAS

Abstract

Abstract: The text published on a social network by scholar and writer Simão Assayag, entitled “Quero 'Minha' Amazônia de Volta”, serves as a starting point for reflections on tensions and disputes present in speeches about the Amazon staged in the Arena by oxen Caprichoso and Garantido. It presents some intersections between the samba schools parade and the Parintins Folk Festival, based on reflections on the concept of transculturality, by ORTIZ (1995) and HERNÁNDEZ (2004). Parties distanced by the calendar (carnival and June festivities) and geography (Rio de Janeiro and Amazonas), these manifestations converge through narratives that present allegories as an imaginary and discursive resource. It seeks to analyze the intersections between carnival and “boi-bumbá”, and discuss how the allegorists working in both parties immerse themselves in multidirectional cultural processes to conceive their works.   Keywords: Allegory; Parintins Folk Festival; Carnival; Samba schools; Transculturality.O texto publicado em uma rede social pelo professor e escritor Simão Assayag, intitulado “Quero ‘Minha’ Amazônia de Volta”, serve-nos como ponto de partida para reflexões acerca de tensões e disputas presentes nos discursos sobre a Amazônia encenadas na Arena pelos bois Caprichoso e Garantido. Apresenta alguns entrecruzamentos entre o desfile das escolas de samba e o Festival Folclórico de Parintins, a partir de reflexões sobre o conceito de transculturalidade, por ORTIZ (1995) e HERNÁNDEZ (2004). Festas distanciadas pelo calendário (carnaval e festejos juninos) e pela geografia (Rio de Janeiro e Amazonas), essas manifestações convergem por meio de narrativas que apresentam as alegorias como recurso imagético e discursivo. Busca analisar entrecruzamentos entre carnaval e boi-bumbá, e discorrer sobre como os alegoristas atuantes em ambas as festas mergulham em processos culturais multidirecionais para conceberem suas obras.
