The Moral Entrepreneur: a New Component of Ethical Leadership

Abstract

Ethical leadership has become a popular subject \nof empirical research in recent years. Most studies follow \nBrown et al.\xe2\x80\x99s definition of ethical leadership, which \nconsists of two components: the moral person and the \nmoral manager. In this paper, I argue for a third relevant \ncomponent: i.e., the moral entrepreneur who creates a new \nethical norm. Viewing moral entrepreneurship as a new \ncomponent of ethical leadership opens up avenues for \nstudying various antecedents and outcomes of ethical \nleadership that have not been acknowledged so far, or at \nleast, not adequately
